Energy Code Compliance Training - 9:00 am to Noon
This course focuses on changes to the residential energy code that went into effect with the adoption of the 2012 IECC with Washington state amendments on July 1, 2013. The class will cover requirements for the prescriptive and UA alternative approaches for code compliance, as well as the options for the energy credits. Discussion will also include additions, changes, and deletions to the 2012 IECC that will be enforced in Washington.
Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality (VIAQ) Training - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
The Washington IVAQ Code was previously a stand-alone code in Washington. As of July 2010, the VIAQ Code is gone; however, the requirements are still in place. These requirements can be found throughout the state amendments to the IRC, IBC and IMC. In this three-hour course, participants will gain an understanding of state VIAQ requirements in new and existing construction, and building science and healthy indoor air quality fundamentals.
Both classes will be taught by residential Energy Code Specialists from the WSU Energy Program.
There will be an hour lunch break from Noon to 1:00 pm. There are many good eateries within walking distance including the newly opened Pybus Market!
